Services:

Otherwise known as "How this whole thing works". Well, it's simple, really. Not to mention, perfectly free! While I might one day charge a small fee for it, right now, it's in its beginning stages (a test run, if you will) and right now you can get your own page on here totally free!
Here's how:
  1. You send me an e-mail specifying what you would like the page to be about.
  2. As mentioned on the first page, it can be a page for a child, thought up by the child him/herself. Or, it could be a page put together for a child for a gift.
  3. When I get the e-mail, I will reply to let you know I received it, answer any questions you have, and ask any additional questions I might need to know.
  4. I will keep you informed on the process of your page, and give you the URL (the address to the page) so that you can watch the progress and comment to me about it, if you like.
  5. When it is completed(to your satisfaction), it will be added to the page list for others to view.
  6. If at any time after that, you wish me to make minor changes to it, I would be happy to do so. For example, adding a picture, story, graphic, updating an age, or even changing it around a little.
  7. The possibilities are only as limited as your imagination!

Rules:

There are a number of rules about the content of the pages here. If they do not agree with what you are looking for, I wish you well in your huntings. And, as always, I'm open to suggestions and comments!
  1. I will not post pictures of kids. This is done for the safety of the child. While there is, of course, no way for anyone to be "tracked down" through a picture on this web site, this is still the internet. I simply do not want people misusing such pictures. Pictures you scan in or send me (from picture disk, for example) of things other than children will be fine. For example, the family dog, or the back yard, or the playground. Just no children. Sorry.
  2. I will not post last names. There will be NO way for anyone on the internet to connect this site to a specific child or family.
  3. By the same token, I will not post e-mail addresses unless permission from the parent is given to me reliably.
  4. Additionally, I will not post Cities, Towns, or Counties. As specific as I will get is state or geographical location. For example, Northern Virginia would be alright. But Alexandria, Vriginia would not.

Please answer as many of the questions as you wish(you can answer then in list form, or just write out a paragraph describing what you would like) and send them to: KidPages@hotmail.com
  1. Would you like a kid's page, or is it a gift for a kid?
  2. What is the child's(children's) names?
  3. Is there a main theme you'd like for your page?
  4. Is there a specific title you'd like?
  5. What are some hobbies/interests you'd like included?
  6. Are there tv shows or movies you'd like mentioned?
  7. Would you like to write some information about yourself/a message to your child? (you can write as much as you'd like for it, I'll put it all in, except for the few things mentioned above)
  8. What's your favorite color?
  9. What's your favorite song?
  10. What's your favorite animal?
  11. Do you have pictures (other than of the child) you would like to send me by e-mail?
  12. Do you have any drawings or other artwork you can send by e-mail (scanned in pictures, or ones painted using a computer paint program)?
  13. Do you have any poems or other writings(or favorite authors/poets, even)?
  14. Do you live somewhere you'd like to mention? (in the mountains, by the beach, near a park, etc)?
  15. (now for the comp questions)What browser do you use? (Internet Explorer 4.0, Internet Explorer 3.0 Netscape 4.5, Netscape 4.0, etc)
  16. What speed is your computer usually running at? (if you don't know, let me know if it downloads pages fast or slow usually, so I know how many graphics to put on)
  17. ANYTHING else you'd like to mention! Questions are always welcome!

Before you send me all this personal information, perhaps you would like to know a little about who I am? Thought you might :-)

I am a college student at the wonderful Virginia Tech. I'm majoring in Computer Science (only one of a handful of women who are, in a class of about 300). I'm double minoring in mathematics and creative writing.
When I'm not writing historical fiction novels, volunteering, or working on a dozen homepages, I like to have coffee with friends, or go for nature walks and hikes.
I love camping and watching hockey. I adore animals, especially dogs, cats and deer. I love reading(when I have the time). I am simply in love with the television show "Highlander" but watch little else(I don't have time, nor do I care to- the newspaper is enough).
I've had the idea for this page for quite a long time but just recently decided to put it into action.
